Heythrop Park – Hole 6

The 6th at Heythrop Park is the signature hole of the course and I must admit standing on the tee looking down the fairway it does look a great golf hole.

Heythrop Park - hole 6

The 6th tee is just to the right of the tall trees on the other side of the water

The fairway and the river run slightly away from you so the more left you aim the longer the carry needed with your drive. Aim too far right though and you could run out of fairway or even end up in the bunker leaving a very long approach to the green.

Get it right and the shape of the fairway will ease the ball round to leave a nice pitch into the large green, make sure you don’t go through the green though otherwise your ball will end up wet.

Perfect line for the 6th hole

The perfect line is to take on just enough water to get you past the bunker
