Course Review

Parkland course recently had some landscape changes to make it more pleasing to the eye. This course is great for beginners as it is quite easy to score well on. The 1st is quite a short par 4 giving you a great chance to start off with a birdie or par. The par 5's give you a good chance to reach them in 2 or leave yourself just a short pitch for you third shot.

1st hole
The short but tricky 1st hole.

They have added a few water features around the course, the ones that come into play the most are on the 10th & 17th. There are good practice facilities here and the staff are very welcoming. Overall the quality & layout of the course is quite reasonable and it seems to change each time we visit.

Favourite Hole

Hole 8:
180 yards over water, looks simple on a calm day.

8th hole
The par 3 8th hole, when against the wind can play very long.

But this course is very flat and can get very windy, therefore whenever we have played this course we have had the wind directly against us on this hole which can put your club selection up by 1 or 2. Get the selection wrong and you could end up getting wet.

Airlinks has improved dramatically over the last few years with huge improvements made to the drainage of the course, bunkers and layout.

Whilst not an overly long or demanding course, it really comes into its own when the wind blows. It has too many short par fours for my liking but the par threes are long and demanding whilst the par 5's give a reasonable opportunity to be reached in two.
The club house has been renovated recently and offers good food and a friendly atmosphere as does the club as a whole.
Reasonably priced membership and weekly competitions make it well worth joining.

If you like your golf courses picturesque and/or interesting, then Airlinks is not going to have any appeal for you whatsoever. On the plus side; the greens were in excellent condition. When we played, they were fairly fast and true. The clubhouse and facilities, in general, are very good. The course has it's challenging holes but, the overall, characterless nature of it could be a big disappointment for many who play it.

Good course for the ego, but for nothing else. Expect to score about 10 shots under your handicap here. Lots of short par fours. There is really nothing good to say about this golf course, apart from that it may suit beginners. Probably one of the worst courses I have played.

Way, way too expensive for what it is. £25 for a weekend round is about double this course is worth.

I've been playing golf for only seven months but always find that I do quite well at this course. Just finished playing today and got my first ever birdie and pared on three others. Must say the course isnt as challenging as others i have played and also the green fees are very expensive at £25 for 18 holes.

Great course as being flat it suited me as I'm quite tubby, although it was very challenging I found it easy as I'm excellent at nearly all sports even though I'm tubby, plus the 19th was very good as the food is great tried everything which made me even more tubby, although on a final note it's not very long as I was able to reach most greens with my lady's clubs.
