Course Review

The fairways and tees on the course were in good condition
but the greens need a bit more work, moss has got hold of some of
them but that said the ball does roll well. The bunkers were alright
too but maybe could do with just a bit more sand in them. A nice
touch to the course were the shelters on the 6th & 8th.
The
course starts off well with a couple of plus 400 yard par 4's, although
there are not that many hazards along the first few holes the 3rd & 4th
do get you thinking about which club to use from the tee.
The 4th
in particular is a nice hole as you have to make a choice of either
going for it buy trying to clear the bunker and the line of trees
or playing down the left side of the fairway to open up the green.
The 6th is a tricky par 3 with an interesting green and the 7th over
the lake is short but
with water all around the hole and a green not visible from the tee
you would be brave to try and reach it in one.
There is a driving range here and the putting green seemed to match
the rest of the greens on the course, so at least they were consistant.
You can hire trolleys if you have forgotten yours and can't quite manage
to carry your bag around the holes.
We admit the changing rooms were small, if you have
a society of around 12 playing here there is going to be a queue
for the showers. That said however the showers are of good quality.
The staff and members made us feel welcome and we had a couple of nice
conversations out on the course while waiting on some of the tees.
Favourite Hole
Hole
6:
175 yard par 3 .
This whole hole looks nice, from the shelter next to the tee area down
to the lakeside green, it just looked a very nice hole.
The hole is
slightly downhill but with a stiff breeze coming off the lake it certainly
plays it's yardage. A bunker front left makes any back placement of
the flag difficult to get at and with the lake behind you definitley
do not want to be long.

A nice little 9 hole course, staff and members very friendly. 1st few holes a little up and down but the back 5 are much better. All par 4 with one par 3, which is my favourite. Will play again soon.

Having just read your review of bearwood i feel that it underrates the course a little as its a lot more testing than you say and the greens are always in good condition all year round plus you say we don't have electric cart hire or a restaurant which are both untrue and would appreciate it if you were to change this on your website.
