A pleasant and enjoyable round of golf can be had at this course.
Tees and fairways were in great condition for October, the fairways in particular have wonderfully undulations on them which make you think about where to place your tee or approach shot. Then we come to the greens, if you think you have a straight putt on a green then have another look, everything rolls down the slopes. We could not believe the breaks some putts made and how fast the downhill putts were.
The course starts with quite a tough par 3, you have to be straight off the tee and carry to the green otherwise you are in trouble with bunkers all around the front and two large trees left and right of the green. Then comes a short par 4 that you have to stay left on and a short par 3 with trouble again around the front.

The 4th gives you a great downhill approach shot from the middle the fairway then comes good birdie opportunities at the 5th & 6th, providing you don't leave yourself downhill putts that is. The approach shot to the 7th is blind as it is uphill and you need to make sure you take enough club then it's onto the par 5's for more birdie chances.

The back nines fairways seemed flatter than the fronts and not as interesting apart from the 12th. There is a new ditch in play on the 14th that may catch those trying for the green in one, which is what some people may try at the 18th but a bunker and the raised green does a good job of stopping most attempts.

We normally take a few more photos on our way round the reviews but we were enjoying the golf so much we kept forgetting, which sums up our feelings about the course really, in great condition and a joy to play, just make sure you are putting well.

Favourite Hole

Hole 12:   400+ yard par 4, that crosses the ditch three times.

You have a blind tee shot over a hedge that crosses the ditch for the first time, depending on how far you managed to drive the ball you will be left with two choices. Go for the green and risk losing a shot in the last ditch or lay up between the next two ditches and play for a par. Good hole.

A mixed bag of holes, two par 5s together, strange. Some good holes some easier holes and some that make you wonder whats going on, I am wondering if it used to be a 9 hole and with some extra land they have turned it into an 18. Still it was not all that bad, judt seemed to lack any character but would play it again. They could do with some signage in a couple of places as well.

A good test of golf for most golfers, some challenging and interesting holes which will prove to be of interest to all. The very longest of hitters may find the course a little short, but the difficult greens often rein players in. Hole 11 offers excellent views across 30 miles of London and Hertforshire. Genenerally appears to be a very friendly club and whilst the facilities may not be as outwardly impressive as some other clubs in the area, you will enjoy a good day out and an excellent round of golf.
