Course Review
Small nine hole council run
course that really is just a bit short for the average golfer, this is
more a practice round or beginners course.
Although a couple of the holes are well laid out.
It's an easy par 4 to start with followed by two short par 3's, then comes
the first interesting hole a 200 yard par 3, getting a par here will please
any golfer.
The 6th has three bunkers across the fairway that could make you decide
to ease up on your tee shot & the ditch just before the 7th green makes
the approach just a little more difficult.
Quite a good variation of holes for the novice to start with and the experienced
golfer could just about use every club in his bag on a practice round, as long
as you tee off with irons on some of the par 4's that is.
Favourite Hole
Hole
4: 200 yard par 3.
A long par 3 for such a short course, this
will test even the experienced golfers ability. A ditch running in
front of the green will catch anything falling short of the mark
and bunkers surrounding the rest of the green really means that if
you are hoping for a par, or even a birdie! you just have to hit
the green and from that distance it will have to be a well struck
shot.

Yes it's short, flat and the greens are average. I played here as it was one
of the only courses around that I had not tried, and I won't be going back soon.
In fact an early round was played and I gave up waiting to pay afterwards as
there was no-one on site. Don't recommend this behaviour though.
Good points, the long par 3 is tricky with a ditch before the green and massive
well kept bunkers.
For a beginner it is very encouraging due to the exceptionally wide fairways.

Played course yesterday and found it to be a rewarding course.
With a pleasant range of short holes that encourage accuracy as opposed to distance.
Well placed bunkers throughout the course, meant that a "hit as hard as
you can approach" is not rewarded. Allowing players to try different techniques
that otherwise would be required at many other courses.

A very nice little course my first round of golf was played on this course enjoy the variety of long and short holes allowing for a difference of long and short irons but not really a need for woods to by played on this course apart from maybe 3 holes but then a driver would still be a bit strong.

If you are starting golf its well good place to start. The staff always nice, but no bar sometimes you can buy a bottle drink too. It's good place to take a young kid to start playing too.

I've played on this golf course just the once. I have just started playing golf and I was recommended by a friend. Tthe course is kept very well, the staff are friendly and the holes are situated in good positions as well as the bunkers. The course is not as well kept as its sister, farnham park, but has the potential to be a very good 9 hole.

I use this course whenever I can find an hour or so spare in the day - its always possible to get on, in good condition and sensibly priced. It is a learner course so quite straight forward (good for the golf ego) other than the tricky 4th.
