Course Review
Set in outstanding Buckinghamshire
countryside this course is very pleasing on the eye, the fairway's and
greens are immaculate and the water features on a few of the holes add
more beauty to the course, our one complaint was that the tee areas could
have been a bit more like the rest of the course, but being a new course
I'm sure they will sort them out.
They say the signature hole is the 15th which turns out to be quite
a tough hole if your drive is short & the 2nd needs a mention as well,
with it's incredibly thin green, get the yardage wrong and you are in
trouble. In fact we couldn't really find a bad hole on the course, maybe
the 9th is a bit bland unless you decide to be stupid and go for the green.
Overall this course was a pleasure to play and once your round is finished you
have the great facilities in the clubhouse to enjoy.
Favourite Hole
Hole
8: The yardage chart says that the locals call this hole
'Ballybunion' and when you play it you can see why.
At 529 yards you might be thinking of trying to get to the green in 2, well forget
it, this par 5 definitely needs a 3 shot approach. The tee shot is blind but
the marker post on the top of the hill is a bit out of place as once over the
highest part the fairway slopes to the right, so aim up the left and you should
get plenty of run from the ball. Now with a good tee shot you may well be left
with around 200 yards to the green, tempting you to go for it but the mounds
bumps and bunkers that surround the raised green makes it a nearly impossible
approach. The last challenge is to putt out on the huge two tiered green.

Magnolia Park is a gem! The greens were in awesome condition and probably read
9/10 on the stimpmeter, or maybe it was my bad putting!! As a 7 handicapper I
found the course a good challenge, the different tee boxes can set the course
up for any standard of golfer. The clubhouse, range and all the other facilities
were clean, and the staff were helpful and polite. Well done guys.
