Course Review
Quite an easy start to this course with a wide open fairway & no bunkers, although the two trees near the green do affect your approach if it's not from the middle of the fairway. It's then on to the 2nd which again is straight forward depending on pin position, the pot bunker that is front right could well catch shots that have not got the legs. The 3rd hole is a little more difficult, you can drive straight at the lake leaving an over water approach to the green or bend it slightly right off the tee to avoid the lake approach.

- Decisions to be made on the 3rd tee.
With four bunkers at driving distance then another three at the second shot location this hole certainly makes you think about playing short of the bunkers, but it is also a short par 5 which kind of makes you want to try and reach it in two. The 5th hole has bunkers down the right but is all downhill so as long as you steer clear of them you should reach the green in two. The 6th is another bunker laden whole with ten sand traps plus a lake to contend with, play is safe as a par 5 and be happy with a par.

- Ten sand traps plus a lake make the 6th a tricky hole.
Play your tee shot over or to the left of the bunker on the 7th and you should have a nice short iron approach to the green that is defended by five bunkers. The par 3 that follows has a small brook running in front of the green but should not really affect you, then it's back towards the club house up the 9th, the two ditches in the fairway should not bother you but the one near the green does come into play.

- View up the fairway of the 9th hole.
The back nine starts with a good par 5 where the ditch just in front of the green really does make it near impossible to reach in two. The short 11th gives a good birdie opportunity but that can be canceled out by the next hole where the lake affects the tee shot and the approach. The 13th is a tough hole with a brave drive over the bunker leaving an uphill approach to the green, you will do well to hit the green in two here.

- A view of all those sand traps on the approach to the 15th.
Don't take too much club off the 14th tee, the ideal position is just short of the ditch leaving a short iron into the green. Next comes a long, tough, par 4 over 400 yards uphill with five bunkers guarding the approach to the green. A quick note on a nice memorial here, there is a plague remembering the crew of a plane that was shot down between the 14th & 15th fairway in 1943 during the war.

- Memorial to the crew of the Halifax bomber, shot down by friendly fire.
The 16th is a par 3 that is all downhill so club selection is vital and the 17th provides you with a choice off the tee play it safe down the right but mind the bunkers if you go too far or go for it over the lake opening up your approach to the green. The last par 5 is reachable in two but will require two very good shots to pull it off with a 100 yard bunker that is almost in direct line to the green.

- The view over the lake from the 17th.
The course looked in great condition, has a good number of tee variations and a superb clubhouse, we really enjoyed our day here.

12:
Short par 4 with a tricky approach.

- Tricky approach to the 12th.
The 12th has a narrow green that is sat right behind a lake, this lake is reachable from the tee is you play straight towards the green so you can either play towards it ensuring you have the right club to stop short, leaving an iron approach. Or you can play long down the left taking out most of the lake, this requires a very accurate tee shot.
