Very nice 18 hole course which also has a 3200 yard 9 hole course. The main course is hilly in places and most holes have very tight tree-lined fairway's which were in excellent condition as well as the greens, considering how good the fairway's and greens were the tees were a little bit of a disappointment and could have been better. There is some sort of water feature or ditch on nearly every hole so careful placement of your tee shots are required for good scoring.

Hole
14: A sub 400 yard sort of double dogleg par 4.
Difficult to get a good position for your approach shot on this hole. A ditch
runs the length of the hole down the right hand side and a bunker with protruding
trees stop you trying to cut the corner of the dogleg with your tee shot. A ditch
at the front and three bunkers protect the green. If playing from the centre
of the fairway then the approach is straight over the ditch and two bunkers in
the front with the bunker at the back waiting to catch anything that runs through
the green.

The Woodlands Course at Oak Park Golf Club, Crondall, near Farnham in Surrey is an undulating course with a mixture of narrow tree-lined holes, where accuracy is a necessity and wider open ones, which offer more of a margin for error.
I found the most testing of the holes to be the par five 10th and the par four eleventh, although the par five 17th is a tough hole to encounter at the end of a long round. The greens were very fast when I visited (early Oct. 2003)and the course was, perhaps understandably, showing some signs of distress after the warm, dry summer of 2003, with a number of bare patches on some of the greens and fairways. The clubhouse facilities were good with a pleasant bar and restaurant area, together with a fairly well stocked pro's shop and there was a driving bay (tokens for the golf ball machine available from the pro's shop).
Well worth a visit, although I would imagine that it is probably at its best in the late Spring or early Summer.

Played this course for the first time yesterday (26th Jan 2004) and found it too be an excellent tree lined test of my game. On the down side the tees are not the best and hole layouts would be an advantage as you get abroad as some of the holes need local knowledge for the line of the tee.
BUT apart from that an excellent course, tough and challenging yet rewarding all the good shots you play. Even though we have just have heavy rain for two weeks the greens were in top condition and the course drains very well.
Some absolutely stunning holes and especially well laid out greens ( some three tied ones for the challenging putts) all with heavy bunker cover. The par five tenth at 563 yards dog legs to the right with an adverse camber fairway and then goes uphill to the elevated green for another three hundred yards. If anyone has ever made it in two I would love to hear about it!
I would say the course suits the medium to lower handicapper as anybody higher than twenty is going too have a hard day. I wish the eighteenth was a stunning finish hole sadly its a bit ordinary. But I would recommend every golfer to visit Oak Park.
