Course Review

The facilities here are quite good for a 9 hole course, there is a range with a separate chipping area & the clubhouse is quite nice too. The course has a couple of sub 300 yard par 4's but part from that it's alright in length. The greens here run smoothly but are quite small so will test your approach shots, one thing we did notice though was that there were no signs for hole numbers making it difficult to see where the next hole is if you have not played here before.

3rd hole
A view of the 3rd hole with the tree on the left and the pond on the right.

You start with a pretty straight forward 1st hole and the pond that is on the right of this hole does not really come into play. The second gives you a nice short iron tee shot to the small green with no bunkers around it so a par or better should be the score here. The 3rd needs a carefully placed drive if you are long enough to reach the pond & the tree on the left kind of makes you aim at the pond.

8th hole
A view of the 8th hole from the tee with the hazards ahead.

The 4th's approach shot is slightly uphill so make sure you take enough club to reach the green and the 5th's drive could see you reach the ditch so take the right club from the tee. The 6th is probably the best on the course with a few options and the 7th is a decent length par 3 that will test your accuracy with it's small green.

8th hole
A view of the 8th hole from the tee with those two bunkers ready to catch stray shots.

The 8th holes bunkers are well placed to catch any stray drives and the ditch before the green could easily catch any approach that comes up short. The last hole is a nice par 5 that has two trees perfectly positioned to get in the way of your second shot's line of sight to the green, making you play this hole as a par 5 unless you can conjure up a great approach.

Overall this course is more than a match for your average golfer and not just a pitch & putt course.

Favourite Hole

Hole 6: 361 yard par 4 dogleg to the left.

6th hole
A view of the approach to the green from the right hand side of the fairway.

The pond on the left & trees in front of it stops any thought of trying to cut the corner slightly making the ideal line down the right of the fairway far enough to get a line into the green. Sounds easy but there are two bunkers on the right of the fairway making the ideal line quite a tight one. A tree in front of the green will hamper any approach from a drive that did not travel far enough up the fairway and the two bunkers on either side of the green make the shot into the green a tricky one.
