Course Review
Laid out by Open Champion James
Braid (1901,1905,1906,1908,1910) in 1927 this course is quite simply
one of the best links courses in Britain.
In fact Senior Tour golfer Brian Waites is a regular visitor here and
in his opinion this course is within the top 5 in Europe.
Need we say any more?
The staff here were very welcoming and with the wind, cliff top views & extremely fast greens this course is not for the faint hearted, but once played you will find yourself actually yearning to play it again, to try a different approach on certain holes. There are not many courses that after playing once give you the feeling of just having to play it once more.
The course is a joy to play, but we advise you walk the course first as a lot
of the shots are blind. You find yourself aiming at a white post on a hill and
hoping the guy who put it there knew what he was doing. This course will certainly
test your golfing ability.
Favourite Hole
Hole 2: Nice par 5 but try to reach it in 2 and you have to be accurate. The fairway climbs from the tee then bends round to the left and drops slightly to the green with bumps and hills throughout. Miss the fairway and you could be in a lot of trouble, steep banks, long rough and lightening fast greens are common on all holes, but we enjoyed playing this hole like a true par 5 and hitting the fairway with our second shots to leave a short iron shot to the green.

I started playing my golf at this course and very little has changed in the 30
years I've battled around here. There are many things to admire here, the fact
you play on quick greens all year round, wind is always a factor and the stunning
views especially from the 4th green.....but the main factor is the green keepers
Billy and John Mitchell who for 40 years have cared for the course...a very special
place.

I stayed in one of the caravans on the course for a week with my son. We both
agreed not only fantastic value for money, but one of the best and most testing
courses ever - one of the par 3's on the back nine; I hit a nine iron one day
and struggled to reach with a 3 iron the following day! This course should not
be missed if you are in the West Country.

Great Course, excellent hospitality, everyone at Perranporth has always made
us very welcome indeed during numerous stays there over the last 20 years.

Love it, love it, love it! I can’t believe people rate Trevose better than this place (golf world top 100 rankings).
Simply stunning and the welcome is second to none.
An over used term but this really is a hidden gem, go play it now.

Played early July. Views stunning, greens fast and true, the rough was punishing. I am a 13 handicap and hit the ball well - I lost about 10 balls, several holes are blind tee shots and I never found my drive even though I thought I was in the fairway. £30 per round. Play it for the views but high handicaps beware and take plenty of ammo. I will not play it again and am glad its not my home club.
