Course Review
A small 9 hole course, but by no means a pitch & putt
one.
Tees and fairways were in good condition and the greens were superb.
The
course starts off with a slight dogleg downhill par 4, that gives a good
opportunity to get off to a great start. Then it's through the hedge
to the blind tee shot of the 2nd. After the 3rd hole par 3 comes a very
interesting 4th hole where you will have to think on the tee.
Holes 5
& 6 are decent par 4's and the 7th hole has a tee set back into the hedges
with a sloping fairway to the left.
The 8th is hard to judge as it has
a raised green that you cannot see from the tee and the 9th has a blind
tee shot which if left in the middle of the fairway gives you a good
approach to the final green. Water comes into play on the 1st, 4th &
6th holes and you have to avoid a railway line on the 7th.
Overall we think this is a very good 9 hole course, the clubhouse facilities
could be improved upon but we must say that the staff and members we
met were very friendly and a credit to the course.
Favourite Hole
Hole
4: Short par 4 of some 278 yards.
Some would be tempted to go for it here but you really do need to
be very accurate, otherwise you will be in sand or in the lake. The
best way to play this hole is to work out the yardage to the safe
part of the fairway between the 4 bunkers & the lake and hit an iron
shot there. Which leaves you with a nice short iron to the very narrow
entrance of the green. If played sensibly a birdie is on the cards
but if you don't think when you get on the tee you could well end
up over par on this hole.
