Course Review

Because of the time of year and amount of light about we only played the 9 hole course so this review will be updated later in the year when we play the full 18 holes.

The fairways and greens on the 9 hole course were in quite good condition the overall length is a little on the short side so the well established golfer is not going to use all the clubs in the bag, more like a drive and then a 9 iron or wedge.

The rest of the facilities at the course are very good although the putting green was closed when we visited, the changing rooms are adequate though from the rest of the facilities you seem to expect more. The staff were very welcoming and very helpful going out of their way to find out who the Architect of the course was, not a bad course overall and we look forward to playing the full 18.

Favourite Hole

Hole N/a:
As we only played the 9 hole course we are not going to give this course a favourite hole just yet, we will play it again later in the year and this time play the 18 hole course.

We love this relatively new course, (est 1991), we are not big hitters or movers of the ball, so this is a challenging course for the beginner and intermediate player. It has very good greens, tricky to read and an excellent variety of holes, watch out for the 6th, 10th and 14th. Great range for all the clubs in the bag. Pricing is excellent, along with good facilities. Good golfers will find it a little less challenging though.

1. As A beginner I find it a very forgiving course. There are many holes were if you drift of to the right or left you will find your self on other fairways. This still gives you a good chance to make the green on your second stroke.
2. The practice putting green is of a good standard.
3. The pro shop is always helpful.
4. The Bar and lounge area are good.
5. The only area of a poor standard has to be the Gents toilet and changing room. There is no security for personal items and the toilet/show area just look run down. For a good example for modern gents is the Blue Mountain golf club.
6. Martin Golf matches for the club are not easy to find on the net?

I have played this course many times during the summer months with my 2 colleagues of which I enjoy very much, the thing that frustrates me about this course is that if I want to play during a DRY week in the winter due to one of my friends being registered disabled but has a handicap 18 I am totally cheesed off that no allowances are made for a buggy to be used.
