Course Review
This course is very long from the back tees and the course was suffering a little after all the dry weather we have had but the firm fairways certainly helped with some of the longer holes. The greens had some brown patches on them but still putted well and the bunkers were filled with lovely soft sand. The opening par 5 gives you a good chance to get going as you can end up on the 2nd fairway and still be in with a chance of going for the green. The 2nd plays back along the 1st but you do not want to over hit your approach to the green. The 3rd hole gives a good birdie chance if played sensibly and the 4th needs a drive threaded between two bunkers on either side of the fairway. The 5th is an outstanding par 5 and the 7th offers another good birdie chance.

- Keep it online and you have a good chance of a birdie putt.
The 8th hole takes you back towards the clubhouse and the water and the 9th needs a good drive to get you up to the corner of the dogleg, but care must be taken with the out of bounds on the right. The 10th is a short par 4 where a drive of around 200 yards will only leave a short iron approach and the par 3 after it needs the correct club selection to carry the front bunker. The 12th is one of those 'Shall I go for it' holes with water just in front of the green forcing most to lay up. the 13th is a reachable par 5 in two if you can get past the two bunkers in the fairway at around 220 yards with only a very small gap between them.

- You could go for the green but you might end up wet.
The next par 3 needs to carry another front bunker and two more fairway bunkers come into play on the 15th. A good drive is needed off the 16th to give you a good line to the green for the approach and the 17th has a large bunker on the front right just waiting to gather your ball. The last hole offers a birdie chance if your drive is good as the water does not really come into play.

- Avoid the bunkers to have a good chance of a three on the 17th.
As we said at the start the course was very dry but it looks like the sort of course that looks great as it gets greener after a bit of rain, the staff were kind and helpful and the rest of the facilities were good too, this course certainly looks older and more mature than it is.
Favourite Hole
Hole
5:
627 yards from the back tees.

- The drive off the tee and the approach to the green make the 5th a good hole.
You are going to have to be very accurate if you take a driver off this tee as the dry ditch at 250 yards gets deeper the further right you go making your second shot a short iron if you end up in it. There is water behind the green so you also need an accurate approach shot if you are going to score well here.
