Course Review
Lovely looking course with
some splendid views of the river Thames and the surrounding areas. Tees
and fairways were in great condition and the greens were some of the best
greens we have putted on so far this year. It took some time getting used
to them, I 'm glad we had a few putts on the practice green otherwise we
would have got off to a terrible start, the ball just keeps on rolling
them.
It's a nice undulating course with a few slopes on some holes but not too severe
that it makes walking the course tiring. Overall we all enjoyed our round here
even if some of us didn't play too well.
Favourite Hole
Undecided: This
is the first course where we couldn't make up our minds which hole
we liked the best, there were just too many good looking holes.
The short par 3 15th sitting up high on a mound so if you miss the green the
ball comes tumbling down off the hill.
The par 4 dogleg 5th and 12th holes looking great from the tee as the holes drop
away down the slope, catch your drive well on these holes and you will hit a
monster.
The long 202 yard par 3 3rd hole with bunkers protecting the green on both sides,
so whatever you hit here to try and stop the ball on the green you had better
hit it straight.

Nice course, quite hilly and interesting. Plays shorter than its yardage because
there's a few par 4s which are downhill and almost reachable with a good whack.

Fantastic looking course really well presented. Harder than it looks with a variety of different holes requiring shot and thought selection, mind you what else would you expect from the John Lewis organization.

I love this course its fairly challenging seen as I only hit 200 yards+ off the tee especially the back to back pare 5s 10 and 9th holes but he pare 4s are not to bad with most drives being protected with fairway bunkers and long grass and the greens the same the par 3s are a challenge being lucky to get on the greens even on the best of days its a great course stare hole par 3 15 the shortest par 3 but the most challenging the green sits up on a mound like hill punishing mishit shots by them rolling back down the side meaning a very skilled chip shot on the green a great challenge I recommend it to any one a great day out pleas come and its at a reasonable price.

I am a junior member at the club and have been for some time now. I have found the course to vary in its difficulty depending on the conditions. In the summer the course plays extremely easy and short and the ball travels so far on the downhill holes e.g. 4th, 5th, 9th, 12th. all of which are easily reachable under regulation with a solid drive.
Despite this, the course can be very challenging towards the autumn period due to the strong winds that pick up around the course. The lack of trees leave it very susceptible to gale force winds and on many occasions you can find yourself needing 4 or more clubs more than you would expect to be hitting at other times in the year.
In summer, the greens usually run at a fast pace and provide a very true roll. In winter the greens are not very well looked after and are not often cut. The course provides some deep rough not far from the fairway which more than makes up for its lack of tree cover. Stray too far from the fairway and u are sure to be in trouble in some deep rough that will wrap around your club tighter than an airport sandwich. In conclusion, this course provides a great view and is sure to provide you with a very enjoyable days golf. Just make sure you bring a spare ball or two.
