Course Review
This course is on the edge
of the Chilterns so as you can imagine it is anything but flat. Some of
the holes offer some great views but walking the course can get a little
tiring for some. The greens were in good condition and the ball ran well
on them, the same could be said about the fairway's some of our drives
just did not want to stop. The wind is definitely a factor on this course,
with it behind you on the 18th you could quite easily over shoot the green
in one!
One addition to this review. we played here again recently & our round took
over 5 hours, so just a warning it can get quite slow & busy at times.
Favourite Hole
Hole
16: 175 yard par 3.
An elevated tee with woodland on the left and
a steep bank on the right, the green has a couple of bunkers for protection
and some over hanging trees. We liked this hole because it just looks so
great from the tee and also the difficulty we had of stopping the ball
on the green. The wind was behind us when we played it and the greens were
very firm meaning if you hit the green, one bounce was all that was needed
to send your ball through the green.
Rick had the right idea knock your ball into the bank on the left just before
the woods to kill any forward momentum and let the steep bank bring the ball
down onto the green.

The golf course is from Summer of 2001 under new management. The result so far
is very good, with improved greens, bunkers and fairway's and friendlier staff
in the proshop. The centre also feature an excellent 18 hole par 3 course and
some 20 bays driving range.

Wycombe Heights is definitely a course to go back to. Stunning views and well
thought out holes made it a memorable round. All the holes have names to add
extra spice, with the renowned final loop of holes 15-18 making a great finish
especially in match play!
Another good feature is the strategic placement of bunkers mostly at average
driving distance so watch out - accurate tee shots are required!

Wycombe Heights is a challenging course. You may need oxygen for the first three
holes, which provide something of an uphill climb.
The par 4 7th hole (Bunker Alley) requires a long accurate tee shot, and even
the longest of drives still leaves a mid-long iron to reach the green in two.
Over the years it still remains the only hole I have not parred!
The 11th (Dingly Dell) is my favourite hole on the course.
On a good day the green is driveable, although a pot bunker
is waiting to gobble you up), but a wayward shot to the left
could end up in the vineyard which stands on the hillside beyond
the hedge. My advice - place a six or seven iron down in the
dell - you will have half a wedge to find the "cut and prepared".
The 18th is the most tempting tee shot. Downhill all the way.
In the summer this hole is driveable (I have done it two or
three times) but beware the "invisible
bunkers" - two you can see from the tee, but two you can't.
Pay a visit to Wycombe Heights - it's well worth the green fee!

This is my local course, and I have played it many times now. It does not get
any easier, this is a very tough course, especially in the wind(most often) It
has one of toughest 1st holes going, and stray drives are either out of bounds
or in the woods. The Par 5's are long, and up hill, more club than you first
anticipate is a good idea! Toughest hole is the 457yard par 4 7th,it has trouble
everywhere, and the fairway is narrow. Summer golf is a challenge with hard greens,
hard to stop the ball, but the greens are true and in good condition. The food
is very good, and the staff in the pro shop are very helpful also. The range
is a little uninteresting, but worth a visit, whether you play off 5 or 25.

I played my first 18 holes here. Not a course for anybody with health problems.
I started out on a hot day and my Asthma got the better of me. However, finishing
the 18th was delight and although people say it's a hard course...Not if it is
the first one you've played!

After a climb to the first this course is not as hilly as some reviewers say,it
plateaus out to form the most interestring pay and play in Bucks, the greens
are sadly not that great and some of the rough does grow alarmingly but it is
great value, staff are superb and overall gets an easy 8/10.

I would recommend any mid-handicapper play this course as it would be a good test. For a low-handicapper player it might be a bit too easy and they might want to opt for another course in the area. My only gripes are that there are fairways running tightly alongside each other so expect to be calling 'fore' every now and again when a wayward drive is hit and there aren't that many attractive holes, which is a shame considering the beautiful views you get from the high part of the course. The greens are in decent order and tricky to hold during the current dry
period. I would also recommend you play with someone who has played the course before as there are a number of 'blind' shots. Overall a decent course which does exactly what it says on the tin. I will also add that the golf range at Wycombe Heights is a little disappointing due to the balls being of poor quality and very poor targets to hit at.

This is the first golf course i had ever been to and i still love it now.
Its amazing 22 bay floodlit and heated driving range has to be one of the best ranges around. As well as a new pitching area which is simply amazing, and to top it off an amazing putting green that even St. Andrews would be proud of! It also has an amazing par 3 course which would trouble even the most experienced of players. And the main course what can say its truly amazing starting of on a tricky par 4 and then onto a par 3. Any one who can get a level par round this course needs to be granted a medal.
Its well worth the green fees you've GOT to play there. Tom Ingram (JNR) handicap 24.

Wasn't expecting much before I played here for the first time on the 15th June 07. Some courses are underrated and this is one of them. Tee boxes were excellent, signage on course was professional, fairways were lush, bunkers were well kept, greens were superb, best I've played this year. There were some excellent holes with some bunkers strategically placed to make this a good test. The 16th, 17th and 18th holes were as enjoyable as any closing holes I've played. Another plus was our society only paid £25 each with food. Get yourself down there for a great day out, however prepare yourself for some steep climbing !
