Course Review

A pleasant parkland course with nice fairway's and aprons cut right up to the greens. The greens are slightly undulating and you can find some interesting putts on them. The fairway's are tree-lined so straight hitting is the key here as getting back out of the trees is often very difficult if you do manage to find your ball.
There are a number of long par 4's on this course that often require a long iron approach to relatively small targets.
You can get refreshments half way round between the 9th and 10th tees and enjoy some pleasant company from the lady who serves there.

Favourite Hole

Hole 17: It was a hard choice to choose a favourite hole as they were all quite good. We eventually went for this Par 3.
The green is raised so you cannot see the base of the flag, a huge bunker in front will catch anything that is even inches short of the green and you will find that getting out of the bunker is a challenge in itself. Bunkers either side of the green will catch anything not hit straight and there is a big slope on the left of the green which makes putting interesting for some pin positions.

A course of two halves, Des. The front nine has some demanding par fours but on the back nine most holes are a drive and a flick. The Par 3 16th and 17th add up to a difficult finish and in the summer when the greens are slick this course is a decent challenge.

Course is currently in great condition (May 2006), by far better than anywhere else in the area. Learned they have just put in new irrigation to keep it that way even through a long, hot summer (we wish!). Club very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely course in excellent condition, certainly far better than any other course for miles around. New watering system was obviously a success as fairways, approaches and greens were excellent. Very friendly staff and members, well worth a visit and the annual membership package is one of the best kept secrets in golf! I would definitely recommend it.
