I was born in 1971, for my 7th birthday I got a BBC model B computer and I was hooked. Mmany hours were spent at the computer playing my favourite game Elite but I also had a passion for creating my own projects and enjoyed programming in Basic, managing to produce a couple of homemade games.
I continued to play around with the BBC through my school years, connecting it up to Compuserve to delve into the world of bulletin boards. After upgrading to an Archimedes and then eventually a Pc, some would consider this a downgrade, I discovered the World Wide Web.
I started to delve into HTML by examing certain sites code and trying to come up with my own ideas, editing them in a plain text editor, it was around this time that I started to get into a second hobby, golf!
In 1999 I launched my personal golf website to bring together my love of the game with my increasing love of computers & the internet. Since then I have completed a number of projects for individuals & small companies and have built up a number of technical skills including, Windows Server, Windows Clients, MS Office, SQL Server, Novell Netware, Visual Basic, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WINS, LAN/WAN implementation, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Dreamweaver & Photoshop.
After 11 years working as the IT Manager for Sascal Displays, I moved on to become the Web Manager of YourGolfTravel.com.
My day consists of maintaining the company and partner websites with the loading of offers, venues, feature pages, media and blog sections.
I still maintain a couple of sites and offer my services to any small business looking for a clean, modern website.
