Review of the Forest of Arden Golf Resort
Set among acres of breathtaking natural landscape the Arden course has you negotiating a route around a number of lakes while also avoiding, gorse, trees and deer. From the Championship tees, the Arden measures 7,213 yards, demanding quality ball striking to find the outstanding putting surfaces.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Windows
The only windows you get on a golf course tend to belong to the clubhouse building. Stockley Park Golf Club is set in the middle of Stockley Business Park and quite a few windows are reachable from the fairways.

72 holes, 15 miles & 13 hours – Longest Day Challenge complete
Well we managed to complete our four rounds of golf in one day and have the blisters to prove it. We would like to give a big thank you to the staff of Huntswood Golf Club for hosting our day and a special thank you to the members who let us play through when we caught them up.

2011 Open Championship: Royal St George’s
The oldest Major Championship in golf kicks off this week, returning to Royal St George’s, eight years after the last visit. With a high number of blind tee shots coupled with undulating fairways that can produce some unfortunate bounces, the most southern venue on the Open rota is sure to provide some great entertainment.
I have an envelope full of tickets on my desk at work but my partner’s niece is visiting us from Nottingham so I will be taking the kids out and about while the girls window shop in town, instead of heading off to Sandwich this weekend.

A trip down memory lane
It was way back in 2003 that I last played the Lanes Golf Club, which just happens to be the closest course to my house, beating Stoke Park by half a mile, although they are about the same if you walk instead of drive. I was hoping that the course had matured a little since my first visit and I think it has.
